Stamp A Stack

Well, I'm back into the idea of running card-making classes and so here is my return to the stamp a stack. What's a Stamp A Stack you ask?

A Stamp A Stack is a class that allows you to make more than one card using a template that I design. I leave out all of my sentiment stamps so you can pick which ever one suits each card. This can leave you with 10 thank you cards, or one each of every different sentiment I have available. There are usually 2 different templates and everything is pre-cut leaving you to put them together on the day of the SAS (Stamp A Stack). There are no extra pieces to keep, and no stamp sets to take home. If you'd like envelopes you will pay $0.20 for each white envelope or $0.10 for each clear one. Signing up entitles you to 5 each of each template, but if you'd like to make all of one or more of either, just let me know.

The templates for the cards are above, I wanted to use cheery but classic spring colors. So Sage Shadow is the base for one card and Cameo Coral is the base for the other. One utilizes DSP and a wheel while the other uses a shadowing technique (it may be hard to see due to my photography skills or lack thereof). The cost is $1 per card with a minimum of 10 total. (if you'd like to make more, please let me know when you sign up) The class will be Feb 20th with sign up by the 10th.
Here's all the info unscrambled:
What: Stamp A Stack
Cost: $10
Where: My house
When: Feb 20th 12:00pm sign up no later than Feb 10
What ou get: 10 cards (that breaks down to $1 per card) if you want to make more, let me know!

I hope you're all getting into the spring spirit with your scrapbooking and card making!

Clear mount stamps

For those of you who have dabbled in different companies and have tried clear mount stamps, you know that sometimes it seems better to have a clear mount stamp set than other times. Stampin Up has worked over the years to figure out a way to sell clear mount stamps without compromising the quality of their product and have now found a way. So as some of you have already figured out with the start of 2010, SU is selling clear mount stamps and has offered the option of clear mount for several sets in the Sale-A-Bration mini. We also sell the blocks you adhere the stamps to. Below is an example I found on YouTube for those of you who are unaware of or unaccustomed to clear mount stamps.

Haiti

As all of you know…on January 12, 2010 a magnitude 7.0 earthquake struck Haiti, leaving in its wake devastation so overwhelming that the Haitian people and their leaders can only look for help from the outside to cope.
To help make a difference in the lives of those who continue to suffer from the effects of this devastating earthquake, Stampin Up! will set aside $2 from the sale of every I (Heart) Hearts stamp set(117010) and donate it to the American Red Cross' Haiti Relief and Development Fund. (Until Feb. 28, 2010)
Help to make a difference. Order your I (Heart) Hearts stamp set today! Who doesn't {heart} hearts? Especially the hearts in this delightful set. You'll love them even more when you discover they coordinate with our heart punches! Available in both wood-mount and clear-mount.
The Red Cross is already well-established in Haiti, and this money will be used to provide immediate relief and long-term suport through supplies, technical assistance and other support to help those in need.
In addition to donating a portion of sales, Stampin Up bought supplies for 5,000 hygiene kits to be sent to Haiti. Click for more info on this from Shelli Gardner (CEO of Stampin' Up!)

Valentine's Day

Hello everyone! I hope these weeks following Christmas has found you with a clean house, reorganized toy areas, and the majority of your Christmas items put away. I know I have yet to get my mistletoe down as well as our outside lights. But I know that the neighbors across from us will keep us merry all year long with their permanent Christmas lights (at least they only plug them in every December!).

As we transition into spring, I'm thinking that I want to hold a stamp camp in February with a Valentines theme. Now, for those of you who just read that last sentence and said to themselves, "What's a 'stamp camp'???" Here you go...

A stamp camp is an event held in a similar fashion to a scrapbooking class with the exception that we make several different items instead of or including scrapbook pages.

The stamp camp that I am currently putting together will include 10 Valentines Day cards, 10 decorated suckers, one treat box and one 12X12 Valentines Day scrapbook page. The cost will be $25 and you will be getting a stamp set to keep along with the items you make. If you have the Idea Book and Catalog, it's the 'You and Moi' stamp set on page 45. The class will be on Feb 6th (Sat) with sign up by Jan 27th.

Ok, here is all the info unscrambled:

What: V-day stamp camp

When: Sat Feb 6th at noon (RSVP with payment by Jan 27th kari.alford@gmail.com )

Make: 10 cards, 10 suckers, 1 12X12 page, 1 treat box (you get the You and Moi stamp set to keep)

Cost: $25

*If you sign up a friend, you will get $5 off this class!

Also, since it's Sale-A-Bration time for Stampin Up, if you spend $50 on stamping supplies from the catalog, you get a gift to include: a stamp set, designer series paper, or a punch for FREE! Check it out below:

I hope to see you all there!!

Scrapbook Club

Hello everyone! Those of you who signed up for the Christmas scrapbooking class, I'll see you next weekend on the 16th at noon!

Now onto my next project... I would like to hold a club with the end product being a finished scrapbook. The example we will be using will be a scrapbook for a baby boy (not a coincidence that I'm pregnant with a boy!) but each person will choose their own paper, brads, etc so the scrapbook will be able to be made into a Family themed scrapbook or any other theme including baby girl. There will also be an option to omit the paper from the class. This is for anyone who purchased paper for a baby scrapbook or other themed scrapbook and wants to participate in the class but would like to use paper other than what I have available. Each class will give you new flare such as buttons, brads, chipboard, ink, etc so persons omitting the paper will still find something new in their stamping collections as well as on their pages. There will also be new techniques.

Above you will see the examples of the first few classes. The average price will be about $10-20 depending on whether you choose to buy paper as well as which flare we will be using for the class. The first class will be $30 with paper, $20 without.

The club will start in Feburary and the durration will be 5 months.

Here is all the info unscrambled:

Club dates: Feb-June (each class date will be determined based on availablilty for everyone involved)

Cost: $30/$20 (with paper/without paper) First class

$10-$20 (each class cost will be determined based on flare and paper, I anticipate it staying closer to $10 towards the end of the club)

Scrapbook: You will provide your own

End result: 20 12X12 pages with extra flare left over

Sign up no late than: Jan 31st with me at: kari.alford@gmail.com
